Uses For Venus Room After The Closure of Earth Exchange

Hi Miguel @MultilingualBronxite, could you please help to adjust the Swedish practice time from Monday 14.00 UTC to Friday 17.00 UTC (replacing Karaoke)? I have talked to Zeina, and apparently the Venus room is no longer used for Karaoke participants.

I would like to request to remove Danish for now as well since it is currently inactive.

Last one: the Korean practice on Saturdays should be on for 2 hours, kindly help to add 1 more hour to the schedule  thank you! cc @Takashi

Hi Astari! I haven’t had time to be on here lately because I was preparing a presentation for the Brazilian conference last weekend, plus teaching, and stuff. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s a good question. I looked at the Programme, and Richard extended the meeting calendar into mid-December. Since some stuff continues to get added every now and then, like a presentation I saw, I guess we could all follow that. Maybe UTalk will post their quizzes in the Programme later on as well. I’ll still keep the spreadsheet, of course, but it’s nice that Richard wants us to keep using the Programme and keep sending him Programme requests.

It’s done.

In between the Korean and Arabic meetings, me and a few others are going to try out a Portuguese meeting in that hour in between. We could go into one of the Earth rooms or the Moon Cafe if there are still people in those rooms at that time, but it may feel like a trial run of the meeting at that time.

Update: We’ll clear the Portuguese meeting because someone else is organizing a meeting on Telegram, in one of the language groups that was created for the Polyglot Gathering Online.

@MultilingualBronxite Hey Miguel, can you put Polish into the schedule? 7pm on Mondays. Thank you!

7 pm on Mondays? Are we starting in 2 days’ time?

Yes, it’s already in the programme, but it’s showing 6pm GMT. I asked Richard to correct it.

Ohhh all right! I’ll even have to see when I could drop by if I could. Good thing you also told Richard too!

I’ll try to add it if I didn’t already. I though I did it just yesterday.

Hi Miguel, can we put Turkish back on the schedule for Mondays at 7 pm (London time)? I guess it would be in the Venus Room because there is Polish practice in the Moon Café at the same time.

Hi Miriam!

Ohh, at 7 PM? All right! The schedule had it for 8 PM, but it’s fine. I’ll put in both and the I’ll see where Richard will put everyone.

Update: Yes, Richard put the Polish meeting in the Moon Cafe, so the Turkish meeting would have to be in the Venus Room.

Hi, are the Tagalog classes not continuing @MarkOng?

Hi, @DJWaaleyBabu. I’m taking time off this week to focus on my health, but the classes will continue next week onwards. My apologies, I have a Messenger chat group for the Tagalog sessions where I also upload the PDF notes, but I totally forgot that I could also announce it here. Just added you to the chat group.

Thanks very much Mark!

I can’t see the chat as yet (but it might just because we’re not Facebook friends yet), but it’s not urgent and I don’t want to be a pain so maybe I’ll let you know if it’s still not working next week?

@MultilingualBronxite
Hi Miguel, could you please change the schedule as follows?

Japanese 9:00, 10:00 → cancel

Done!
I’ll also check where the Tagalog sessions are going on so I can put that into the spreadsheet.

I also will add here that it now seems like Richard no longer adds meetings into the Programme. We’ll follow the spreadsheet again until next October.

You can also keep both Italian sessions: Monday at 6pm and Thursday at 10 am London time

Hi everyone!

Just updating that the spreadsheet is now updated to include the Tagalog sessions (if they are still happening) as well as Rosa’s Ukrainian sessions. Remember to join us for the International Day of Multilingualism on March 27 in the Live Environment :sunglasses:

On Monday 5th September 2022 at 18:00 Central European Time we will take the current Live Environment offline. We hope to have the new Environment and ticketing system ready for you to register and start the login process from Tuesday 6th September.

Please check to make sure the Programme on the Live Environment now looks correct. If there are meetings we should remove or add, please do let me know. Or if there are any changes to be made to times, we can figure that out too.

It appears that Tuesday usually has no meetings happening, so we’re aiming to make these changes to cause minimal disruption. We’ll be in touch with all users of the environment to sign up for new tickets as soon as we’re ready to process new accounts in the new Live Environment for this year.
