I’ve been wanting to learn Slovene for a while. What resources are you using?

Hello Johnny,

To be honest, I’ve been struggling quite lot to find ressources for Slovene language, those seem to be really scarce.
On youtube, I have not found anything of interest so far.
I’ve been sticking to 50 languages.com, they provide audio and phrases.
For vocab, I’ve been using the PONS dictionary which is amazing, and it might be even better from english inputs.
You can still have a look on this website:
https://www.lahkonocnice.si/na-obisku/logopedske-pravljice
You can read and listen to child stories at least to get some listening and check on the transcript.

Due to the lack of ressources on the internet and scarcity in the materials offer, I decided to take courses on Italki with a private teacher.

By the way, what brings you to learn Slovene ?

Bye

I can help you with this.

There are a lot of books for learning Slovene on this site https://centerslo.si/knjige/ucbeniki-in-prirocniki/prirocniki-in-ucno-gradivo/.
Do you know any of them?
On this site you have audios online for free!!
And books in case you can’t get them let me know… I can probably get them in library and sent them to you in Pdf… just write me :upside_down_face:

Also it depends what is your native language. For speakers of Slavic languages or if you speak Albanian there are books that are more appropriate and made specially for those speakers… :upside_down_face:

Thank you! I’ll definitely use this as a resource when I start learning it.

I can suggest you those sites… there are videos + subtitles for deaf Slovene so you can use them to see how the words are written and at the same time you hear the pronunciation.

This is great way to start if you already speak ANY other Slavic language or to get exposure to the language (hearing it and seeing it written):upside_down_face:
