I’m considering learning Louisiana Creole to help preserve it, because it’s one of my heritage languages, but there are so few people left who speak it.
Check with @Ulogil on this forum he is a native Cherokee speaker and teaches the language as well. Maybe he can assist you.

I completely agree! Community languages are worth preserving and learning. It’s a shame that certain languages are seen as being useless or without value. Every language has a unique culture and learning a language, no matter which one, is an enriching experience.
