Introducing Tristan

Hello everyone,

My name is Tristan, and I’m a language learner from the USA.

Besides English (L1), I speak Spanish and German, and have studied, and can use to some degree, French and Esperanto.

I’ve also studied several other languages that are not quite usable at this point without refreshing or other studies: Dutch, Klingon, Norwegian, Japanese, Coptic, Lakota, Toki Pona, Polish, Czech, and I’m sure I’m leaving some out.

Right now my main focus is to get my German up to C1, which is where it nearly is (probably advanced B2) so I can study in Germany, but that’s another topic.

Professionally I work as a translator and have been to two Polyglot gatherings in Berlin so far.

Hola Tristan,

Mucho gusto! What prompted you to study Klingon?

Hi Tristan!

How are you? It’s been a while, hope you are doing fine

I can’t believe how big our community has grown over the past few years, I still remember the old days at the A&O in Berlin!

Hi Tristan,

Which languages do you work with as a translator?

I’m also a native English speaker (from Australia) and aim to improve my German (I was at a B1 level two years ago).
