Introducing myself - Kenya-Jade Pinto

Hello,

It’s me, kenyajade from Toronto/Canada! About me: I’m an Indo-Kenyan-Canadian documentary photographer, filmmaker, and lawyer based out of Toronto. I grew up chasing crabs on the Kenyan coast, before moving to Alberta’s foothills as a teen. My hyphenated worldview and experience informs my work and I dedicate myself to projects that are focused on uncovering injustice, fostering equity, and unpacking identity. I’m tapping back into re-learning and practicing a few languages that have been dormant/unused for some time now, and am looking forward to being inspired from folks attending this conference! .

My native or near-native languages: English
My C1/C2 languages:
My B1/B2 languages: Italian (but very rusty now)
My A1/A2 languages: Swahili, Arabic (Levantine), French
I also want to learn or have started to learn: Korean

To find out more about me, you can visit https://kenyajade.com.

Looking forward to talking with you all and sharing our love of languages!
