Hi everybody!

Hi everyone, I’m so glad to be among language enthusiast. Being an immigrant, my family and I are already bilingual, my parents are still focusing in their English skills but they’d be at a A2 and B2 respectively. I was born in Colombia but we moved to the united states when I was 9. So I had to learn English to assimilate but along that road Spanish took a back seat and sort of became my heritage language I struggled to communicate correctly but now I’ve fixed 90% percent of those issues. Along the way I took French classes in high school and became fixated in learning languages. It all started with French then I was playing a game with an Irish character and I kept hearing voice lines and thought that’s such a pretty language. And the fact my sister watcher Korean dramas also got me hooked on Korean.

So now I’m in love with learning languages and their respective cultures. So Im a native in both English and Spanish. A B1 with French I took like a 2 year break started it up again last year. This year I started Italian, Irish, German and Arabic. Since both Italian is a romanc3 language it came so easy to me I’m at an A2. Same with German(A1) I already now a Germanic lang I also came easier to me. Irish and Arabic are harder for me, but since Spanish and Arabic share somethings it should be easier. But Irish(A1) is really hard for me but i love it and the songs are immaculate so ill keep trying. I have dabbled in Korean, Swedish, Portuguese.

Sorry for the essay I like talking lol.

I forgot to add that the Langfocus YouTube channel really influenced my language journey and my French Teacher too she was a polyglot herself speaking English, French, Swahili, some Spanish and another language I forgot though but she really impacted my life.

Hello fellow language enthusiast!

Zeina here. Nice to virtually meet you. You got quite an interesting list of languages. Glad you considered Arabic as one.

Arabic is my native language alongside English and German. French is my weakest language, and I began my Spanish journey not too long ago.

By the way, I am a talker myself and quite an extrovert. I am afraid people who don’t like to read will experience elevated blood pressure, going through this thread.:rofl:

Best of luck to you!

thank you for your offer I greatly appreciate, I do try to practice it in my daily life like passively scrolling through Instagram and I follow Arabic learning pages and i see some words or phrases. Or when ever I play Overwatch I play the Egyptian character I am always exposed to the Arabic voice lines like hello and things like that. I also offer my services in case you’re unsure of a word or regional differences since I grew up in Colombia then moved to the states I know for sure there are some words used here that mean something else in Colombia and the other way around.

That’s very kind of you
I sure will keep that in mind.

Passive learning is better than not learning at all. With Arabic though, the differences between dialects are quite a lot. And you have the formal written MSA which is more universally understood in the Arabic world. It’s definitely a process!
