Hi everyone,
It’s me, Estevão from Brazil! About me: I’m always learning something new. I like technology, languages, movies, books, series. I’m here to engage with people and know other cultures.
My native or near-native languages: Portuguese (BR)
My C1/C2 languages: English
I also want to learn or have started to learn: French
Hello, Anita-Lean.
I’ve been learning French for the past 3 months, focusing mainly in listening comprehension. I don’t think it’s being difficult overall. However, the language has some features that might be a bit hard to learn, as it’s the case in any other language. These are the things that I can point out:
verb conjugation
gender of words
and the spoken language itself.
The first two things work very similarly as in my native language, but it’s a bit tricky. For example, the word “dress” it’s female in French (“la robe”), but it’s male in Portuguese (“o vestido”).
The third point is simply that I still have some trouble understanding native speakers in a natural conversation.
