Hey there! I'm a traveling artist who just joined today!

Hullo there!

My name is Ellary Rose. Figured I should introduce myself on the forums!

I am an illustrator with a dream of experiencing every country on this beautiful planet and making meaningful relationships that will last a lifetime. I have a deep passion for art, music, language, culture, and travel (among many other things), and those passions keep growing every day.

I will be moving to Puebla, México in January and am so excited to start this new chapter in my life immersed in another culture. I would especially love to make connections with other fellow language lovers in México.:mexico:

Oh, look, it’s most of my interests! So where are you from, and what made you want to go to Puebla of all places? I’ve daydreamed about living in CDMX.

Hey!

I’m originally from California (San Francisco), but have been living in Portland, Oregon for the past year. I chose Puebla for soooo many reasons. After traveling to multiple places in Mexico, I decided on Puebla because it honestly just felt the most like home. The location is perfect, being close to so many other cities and towns, such as CDMX. The climate is ideal for me, because it doesn’t get TOO hot, gets pretty cold at times and has decent rainfall. The food is amazing, the culture is diverse, the people are wonderful, I love everything about it. It has a fascinating history, isn’t too touristy, and is pretty cheap for a big city.
I already have so many cherished memories there, and I really wanted to return to make many more. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hello, Nice to meet You Ellary! I am also interested in music, languages and traveling. I am afraid that nowadays it is not the best time for traveling because of this whole Covid thing  Are you going to visit Poland someday? Greetings!

Hello there!

I will most definitely be traveling to Poland one day. It is my goal to visit every country in the world! What kind of music do you like? What countries have you been to? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hello Zeina!

It’s nice to e-meet you too! Glad to meet another music fanatic, What are some of your favorite genres of music? I speak English as my native language, Spanish and Japanese at an intermediate level, and I am a beginner of Swedish and German. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I have been to Italy, Greece and France. In the future I would love to visit Canada and United States of America because I am attracted to the culture of these countries. I like classic rock music from 60-90’ era, bands like Deep Purple, The Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and many more, also jazz and blues music. I am musician too, I play the guitar and used to play drums :grinning:

Gosh when it comes to music - where do I start? I am a big Celine Dion and Whitney Houston fan and adore the classics. I also love Hip Hop. I guess I will start by telling you something I know for sure: I am not a big fan of Opera. I am familiar with this genre and some of the most famous plays, but I like other kinds better. I love listening to music from all over the world and have listed some of my favorites under this thread:

I am a native speaker of Arabic, English, and German. French is my weakest language

What is your favorite music?

Holaaa mucho gusto!

El japonés es un idioma muy divertido. No lo he usado demasiado en estos últimos años, porque me he centrado mucho en el español. Estoy muy emocionado de mudarme a México. Comenzaré con una visa de turista, porque es más fácil comenzar.

That’s so cool! I’m also a musician (or I used to be)! I played piano, violin, saxophone, and I sang when I was younger, but was more focused on composition. If I hadn’t chosen to go into illustration, ethnomusicology was another idea I had. But now, I mainly just appreciate music, while learning as much as I can. I haven’t played an instrument in years. :joy:

I’m also the same! I listen to basically every single genre imaginable. In my collection, I have everything from classical to heavy metal, bluegrass to EDM, hip hop to Andean music, everything I can get my hands on. I mostly listen to music from other countries and in different languages though. It really helps keep me inspired and motivated. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Cool  Once I tried to play saxophone but I completely sucked :joy: You should refresh your music abilities, shouldn’t you? Every once in a while I like studying songs lyrics in my target language. It helps me to remember some phrases better :grinning:

Yeah, I use songs a lot to study languages. And for me, I just don’t really have an interest in playing music anymore. I have too many other things I’m focused on nowadays, hahaha. :joy:
