Hi everyone! My name is Sunny and I speak 4 languages fluently but I am really trying to learn Mandarin.
I’m so vehemently passionate about learning languages, which we all know can change discourse and how we view the world and our cultures.
I am originally from Pohang, South Korea so Korean was my first language and then I moved to the States and learned English with my family. I started studying French when I was 12 so I have been studying it for ten years now! I also previously worked in Paris, which was a huge help. I learned Mexico by opening up my own NGO for music there, but I didn’t take a class so I learned it through immersion, which was even more helpful.
I truly believe in being vulnerable in learning languages. I don’t believe in classroom teaching methods, but I believe in real-world interactions and nailing down the right accent. I am so looking forward to connecting with more polyglots and learning more from each of you!

Am trying to pick up Korean by immersing myself in dramas and French through reading or rather translating it.
Hope to get some pointers from you.
Hi Sunny!
I completely agree, immersion is way better than classroom teaching methods. I learnt Spanish because I lived in Chile for a while, and even though I never visited an English speaking country, I’ve always tried my best to immerse myself and consume content in English. Now I’m trying to do the same with Korean!
Also super cool that you opened an NGO for music!
