In short: Loving Japan and everything related. Devastated to have learned about the Fukuoka conference only recently. I would’ve gone in a heartbeat. しょうがないね。
日本が大好きになりました。いつか戻れるかなぁ。。。
Somehow I’ve always loved learning languages and since about four years, stuck to Japanese and still enjoy it a lot. Only a few days ago decided to take on another European language to balance it out a bit (anyone know the feeling? One type of language can be overwhelming at times…). It’s Italian, but still very limited there. All the more fun! Will see how it works out to study for both.
I am very excited about this conference and meeting people who care about languages as much (or more) as I do
Native: German
C1/C2: English
B1/B2: Japanese, French
A1/A2: Swedish, Spanish
Have started to learn: Italian
I also want to learn: Portuguese, Korean, Cantonese and/or Mandarin
Yes, that is how I felt when in 2015 when I missed the Polyglot Conference in Novi Sad, Serbia the year before. LOL But it’s good to attend another Conference again.
I have always wanted to learn Deutsch because it contributes to some of the words in Tok Pisin, for instance, “beten” = “a prayer”, and “blut” = “blood”; I’ve read it’s a difficult language to learn, but I wish to learn it someday.
It would have been great to have had you here in Fukuoka. I was the co-organizer of the event and it took place at my university, where I have been teaching cross-cultural management for about 30 years. I live in Fukuoka most of my life.
Hola Miguel, muchas gracias!
Yeah it’s a good thing it happens annually, hehe. From now on we won’t miss it again
Hola María!
Shame but at least we are here now
Yes, small victories keep you going! 一緒に頑張りましょう!
Hi Selmina,
Oh really! I haven’t even heard of Tok Pisin before :´D Sounds interesting. I hope you’ll get the chance to try out German one day.
Hi Tim,
How nice, thank you! Well you must love it then Fukuoka is first on my list of places I wanna visit next in Japan.
Hopefully there’s gonna be another conference in Japan in the future.
