Constructed languages for fictional purposes

First of all, huge respect to those linguists who agreed to cooperate with film studios and developed Klingon, Huttese, Dothraki, Na’vi and others… What an amazing creative challenge for a language expert! But (correct me if I’m wrong) all fictional languages are to some extent based on existing or dead human languages. The only example of a completely alien code is those circular symbols in the Arrival movie (very interesting concept). I personally find it more “authentic”, especially in scifi, when an alien language has no patterns borrowed from human codes. What’s your thought on consciously designed film/book languages? Would you work on one? Which existing/dead human language would you use as a base or would you rather come up with completely alien patterns?
