Compilation of Online Resources for Asian Languages 🌏

Hello everyone! I would like to share online resources for some Asian Languages (mostly East Asian and Southeast Asian) because often a lot of language learners for these languages experience difficulty in finding resources, both online and physically. Hence, many tend to just jump to the more ‘popular’ languages which is sad. (I love European, American and African languages but I am crazy over Asian languages )

I am sharing the resources I use for these languages and also the resources that my students are using (for my native languages: Korean, Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese) to help more people who are interested in Asia and Asian languages to be able to find support and materials to work with.

@Takashi 我去過西藏兩次，挺有趣的！中亞語言的學習材料其實並不多，因為需求量非常小。我對宗喀語和尼泊爾語有興趣可是學習材料太難找了，只好將就好好利用僅有的材料

這些都是旅行會話的書，但有很多國家跟語言，而且裡面有很多單字，所以在學稀少語言的日本人常常會買

I haven’t noticed any lack of resources for learning Chinese (in my experience, it’s the easiest language to find resources for other than English) but these sites are particularly good for western learners - both designed by Chinese native speakers who have been living in North America for years and thus have a good idea of the things we have the most trouble with:

Chinese Zero to Hero - run by a crazy polyglot called Jon - if you go to the bottom of the page, there are links to free resources like learning Chinese through songs and poetry (their paid courses are the best I’ve found too, especially if you want to base your learning around the HSK levels)

Yoyo Chinese - the blog has lots of free resources and articles that really give an insight into tricky aspects of the language, current usage and life in China (also offers paid courses which I have heard good things about but haven’t tried)

I really enjoy the Chinese Hero to Zero programs, having used the HSK3 so far. I also bought the HSK4 one, with prices being quite reasonable, in my view, as they also offer discounts at times. I also like their new poetry course (free course). Yoyo Chinese is a good one as well, I like how she approaches learning the tones through the specific tone pairs (words) she uses. 我覺得「說說中文」也蠻不錯的。內容並不太簡單，所以我覺得對中級學習者也會有用。
