Any other people working in tech or design?

Hello! I’m a UI/UX designer working for a startup in Singapore.
I’d love to meet other people who work in design, UX or development!

How do you see languages and tech/design working together?
Hope to chat to you all soon

Hi! I am webdesigner, designer for print and illustrator.
I love to explore designs and UX/UI solutions from other cultures, simply because I love to see their mindset. I sometimes use it in my designs too. Clients loves it, it is something fresh.
You know, when you learn new language, whole new world of internet will opens to you

And since I use Sign Language too (Deaf people have their own rich culture and history), I am more aware of importance of good pictures and how it works with other design elements…
Thanks to this experience, the needs of visual folks, I feel I am more responsible for better accessibility to disabled people too. So win-win.

I think better understanding to other cultures and languages makes me better designer

Hello! I’m a Software Engineer, and I’ve spent the bulk of my career in web. I have worked on several global and localized projects. For a while I thought I wanted to specialize in localization, but I think it’s been more helpful to bring my cultural and linguistic awareness to non-localized projects.

I find that a lot of localization concerns, much like general accessibility concerns, make force you to make better web experiences in general, regardless of the language or accessibility needs of the audience.

The same goes for the software architecture. Learning to build interfaces and the platforms supporting them in ways that could be localized on day leads to more flexible codebases.

It would be nice if more of the projects I worked on were globalized tho :joy:
