I’m Amirul Wan (codename: A-1) and I currently work as a property analyst. My native language is Malay and I understand Indonesian fairly well too. I speak English, Arabic and Russian and just started learning German.
Currently living in Kuala Lumpur. Previously I lived in London, United Kingdom (3 years) and Gresham, OR (5 months).
I participated in previous Polyglot Gathering in 2019 & 2020, but this will be my first time joining the Polyglot Conference.
My love for languages sparks from my interest in travel as reflected in my language choices. This is in addition by making new friends along the way which has influenced my decisions for my language learning journey.

What caused you to live in Gresham? I live in Eugene, OR and it’s always interesting to find out what brings someone to the most forgotten state in the country. I say the previous statement in jest. I have found that the further away from Oregon one travels, the less likely the people you meet will know anything about the state, how to pronounce Oregon, or where it’s even located.
