Adding/Editing Languages

Thanks, @MultilingualBronxite!

Another solution, if you still don’t have the Languages form in your “Profile” section in the “Preferences” area, is to try to re-do the questionnaire that was shown to you in the beginning. Here is the link to it: https://forum.polyglotconference.com/w/my-profile

Please see wenchong’s reply above:

I also tried this, and it didn’t work for me, either.

Still not working for me either :frowning: thank you for the support though. I suppose not knowing people’s language can somehow make a great conversation starter for now!

It works for me, but only when I click in my name in one of the topics.

I don’t really care anymore about the form, because I have put all my 9 languages and the levels in my introductory post here in the forum. So people can look that up in my introduction.

Hi. I just joined and I had the same error. At the end I had to remove commas, or specific letters for it to work. Also, I can’t access the language free text box in the profile/preferences. Hopefully, it will be fixed as I don’t feel organized without my comma :joy: and I want to fill put the interested in languages.

Thank you

While we figure out the issues related to this problem, for the time being, if you didn’t post your languages in your introduction posts, or if you didn’t make an introduction posts, you may do so. You will also have the chance to use your languages in the language rooms in the Live Environment so everyone will know, as well as posting in the Non-Topic-English section in the appropriate language(s). Feel free to send me a message if you have any more questions related to the Languages Form.

Hi everyone!

A fellow user in the forum has proposed a solution for the language problem in the profile, and the user would be happy if you all would try it out, as it worked for the user.

  1. Go to https://forum.polyglotconference.com/w/my-profile
  2. Remove ‘https://’ in the area ‘My blog or social media address’
  3. Fill in the other sections, incl. language profile in the next page.
  4. Select ‘Done’

Let me know how it goes.

It worked, thank you.

My theory is that since no one fills out the “My blog or social media address” and leaved the “https://” there, the system takes it as “profile incomplete, so the rest of the information doesn’t get updated as well”  so it’s just an issue with the forum. But it works now when you leave that section blank, or if you do choose to insert a link in that section as well.

It worked! Thank you for this.
