Is the perfect tense a way to describe a past event in the present, a complete event in the present, or the habitual form of the simple past? For example, it’s not the same the Portuguese perfeito or the Spanish pretérito perfecto or the French passé composé or the Italian trapassato prossimo or the Romanian perfect compus or the English present perfect. There are some similarities and some differences.

So are you saying that these concept of gramatical aspect within the Romance languages tend to be somehow different and similar at the same time, but the idea of an event depends on when the speaker sets it?
By the way, could you please recommend me some website(s) to learn Romanian? For a long time I have wanting to learn it, but I haven’t really had the time nor the necessary resources to do so.
